1. Do you usually carry a bag?

​

Yeah, I almost always have a bag with me. It doesn’t actually leave me at all. I find it super handy to keep all my essentials in one place. Whether it's my phone, wallet, keys, or a book, I like having everything within arm's reach. Plus, it's a fashion statement too!

2. Do you change your bags often?

​

Oh yeah, I wouldn’t say I'm a bag enthusiast, but I tend to switch them up quite frequently. I love exploring different styles and colors to match my outfits and the occasion. It's like a small way of expressing my personality. Plus, it's fun to have a bag collection to choose from!

3. What kind of bags would you use when travelling?

​

When I hit the road, I prefer a sturdy and spacious backpack. It's just so practical and lets me carry everything I need comfortably. I can pack my clothes, toiletries, and even some snacks for the journey. But if it's a short trip or a formal occasion, I might go for something else. Gotta make sure I'm prepared for any adventure or event!

4. Is a bag an ideal gift?

Absolutely! What is not to like? I think a bag makes for a fantastic gift. It's both functional and stylish, so it's a win-win. You can choose a bag that suits the person's taste and needs. Whether it's a sleek handbag for a fashionista, a practical backpack for a student, or anything else. Anyway, It's a thoughtful present that they can use every day.

5. Did you use a backpack when you were a child?

Oh, definitely! I used one so much throughout my childhood. It held all my school supplies, snacks, and even my secret diary. I’ll tell you about that another time maybe. I remember proudly flaunting my favourite cartoon-themed backpack and feeling like a cool kid on the block.

Haha, I have to admit, I had a bit of trouble staying focused in class as a kid. My mind would often wander off, and I’d daydream...a lot...probably thinking about leaving the class. I mean, who can blame me when there were so many exciting things happening outside those classroom windows? But hey, I managed to survive and still learned a thing or two along the way.

2. Are you a focused person?

​

Well, I try my best to be focused, but I wouldn't say I'm a total master of concentration. Sometimes my mind is elsewhere, jumping from one thought to another. However, when I'm passionate about something or have a looming deadline, I can surprise even myself with my laser-like focus.

​

3. How do you stay focused?

​

That’s not an easy one to answer. For me, creating a productive environment is key. I find a quiet spot, put on some calming music and minimize distractions like turning off notifications on my phone, for example. Breaking tasks into smaller, manageable chunks and setting achievable goals also helps me stay on track. And what's more, occasional short breaks for a quick dance party or a stretch are essential to recharge and keep the focus going strong.

4. Is it easy to stay focused in a noisy environment?

Oh boy, staying focused in a noisy environment can be quite the challenge. All those distractions can be like a carnival in your brain. Personally, I prefer a quiet and peaceful setting to concentrate, but if I have no choice, I might put on some noise-cancelling headphones to drown out the unwanted noise. It's definitely an uphill battle, but where there's a will, there's a way!

1. When was the last time you had a few days off?

Ah, it feels like ages ago! But it wasn’t! The last time I had a lot of time off was for my holiday just a few months ago. I was in desperate need of some R&R, so I took full advantage of those glorious days and embraced the art of doing nothing. But like I said, it felt like it was a long time ago.

​

2. What do you usually do when you have days off?

​

When I have days off, I try to make the most of them. It's all about finding that perfect balance between relaxation and adventure. Sometimes I'll binge-watch my favourite TV shows, catch up on my never-ending reading list, or indulge in some cooking. And of course, I never miss a chance to explore new places, whether it's hiking, visiting museums, or simply strolling around the city with a camera in hand.

3. Do you usually spend your days off with your parents or with your friends?

​

It depends on the mood and occasion, I guess. I cherish spending quality time with both my parents and friends. If I'm in the mood for some heart-to-heart conversations and nostalgia, I'll head straight to my parents' place. But if I'm up for some spontaneous adventures, laughter, and whatever else, my friends are the go-to crew.

​

4. What would you like to do if you had a day off tomorrow?

Oh, the possibilities! If I had a day off tomorrow, I'd love to embrace my inner explorer. I'd pack a picnic basket, grab my camera, and head to a picturesque park to soak up some nature. What else? Well, maybe I'd even try my hand at sketching the beautiful scenery. And to top it off, I'd treat myself to a mouthwatering ice cream cone, because hey, life's too short to skip dessert!

1. What was your childhood dream?

Oh, my childhood dream was quite something! Unfortunately, it was never realistic for me. Lemme tell you, I wanted to be an astronaut, exploring the vastness of space and discovering new planets. I used to gaze at the stars with wonder, wearing a cool space suit, believe it or not. It's not my dream anymore, but when you are a kid, your mind will dream about anything.

2. Are you the kind of person who sticks to dreams?

​

Absolutely! I firmly believe in chasing dreams and turning them into reality. I'm the kind of person who doesn't easily give up when faced with obstacles. I embrace challenges and strive to overcome them, all in pursuit of my dreams. Of course, dreams can evolve over time, but I want to continue and persevere. Never give up, that’s what they say.

3. What is your dream job?

​

Well, my dream job would be to become a teacher. I have a deep passion for sharing knowledge, inspiring young minds, and making a positive impact on future generations. To see the spark of understanding and curiosity in a student's eyes, knowing that I played a part in their growth and development, would bring me immense joy and fulfillment. So yeah, I hope one day.

4. Do you think you are an ambitious person?

Oh, without a doubt! I consider myself an ambitious soul. Yeah, I have a burning desire to challenge myself, to push boundaries, as I want personal and professional growth. I believe in setting high goals and working relentlessly to achieve them. It's the drive and ambition that keeps me motivated and excited about what lies ahead.

1. Can you fix things?

Oh man, well, I have to admit, I'm not exactly a handyman, but I can definitely handle a few basic fixes. You know, the simple stuff like changing a light bulb, tightening loose screws, or unclogging a sink. But if it's something more complex, I might need to call in the experts and leave it to the pros. Like my dad!

​

2. Did anybody teach you to fix things when you were a child?

​

Oh, absolutely! My dad was like a DIY guru. He taught me a thing or two about fixing stuff around the house. I remember those weekends spent with him, passing me tools, and showing me how to tackle small repairs. Having said that, maybe I didn’t so learn so much as I feel there are many things I still can’t do.

3. Do you think it is necessary for people to learn to fix things?

​

Definitely! In this fast-paced world of ours, knowing how to fix things can be a lifesaver. It not only saves money but also empowers us to be self-reliant. Plus, there's a sense of satisfaction that comes with successfully repairing something on your own. So, yeah, I think it's a valuable skill to have.

4. What do you do when a thing is broken and cannot be fixed?

Well, when all else fails and a thing is beyond repair, I try to look at it as an opportunity for something new. I might repurpose the broken item creatively or recycle it if possible. And hey, it's a chance to go shopping and find a shiny replacement too! Sometimes you just have to accept that not everything can be fixed, and that's okay.

1. How important are friends to you?

Wow, so important. Friends are like the oxygen of my life. They're the ones who add flavor to my journey and make the good times even better. Having friends to lean on, share laughs with, and support each other through thick and thin is priceless. They're like the family we choose for ourselves.

2. Do you often go out with your friends?

​

No doubt! Going out with friends is like a breath of fresh air. We love to hang out, explore new places, try new restaurants, and have some unforgettable adventures together. Whether it's a movie night, a random road trip, or just chilling at a cozy cafe, we always find excuses to create memories together.

3. Where do you often meet each other?

​

Oh, we have our favorite spots. The most common meet-up place is our go-to pub, where we can chat, drink a few beers, and have endless conversations. We also enjoy meeting up at parks, where else, or even organizing house gatherings. It's all about finding a place that suits our vibe and allows us to have a great time.

4. What do you usually do with your friends?

We're a dynamic bunch, so we do all sorts of things together. Movie marathons, game nights, karaoke battles, hard to believe right? Hiking trips, and even just having deep conversations over pizza. It's all about enjoying each other's company, laughing until our stomachs hurt, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

5. Do you have a friend you have known for a long time?

​

Sure! I have this incredible friend whom I've known since we went to nursery. We've grown up together, witnessed each other's triumphs and struggles, high points and low points, as everyone does. They're like a sibling to me, and our bond is unbreakable. It's a blessing to have someone in my life who knows me inside out.

1. How do you keep healthy?

​

Well, I try my best to keep healthy by adopting a balanced approach. I believe in nourishing both my body and mind. So, I make sure to eat plenty of fruits and veggies, drink lots of water, and limit junk food...although I must admit, sometimes I can't resist a delicious slice of pizza! Exercise is also a must for me, whether it's going for a jog, hitting the gym, or even dancing like no one's watching.

2. What are your favourite sports?

​

Oh, I love sports! I am a huge fan. I enjoy a variety of sports, but my top favorites would have to be football and swimming. There's something exhilarating about diving into a pool and feeling the water. As for football, the thrill, the teamwork, it can be so dramatic and it’s part of my DNA.

3. Are there health classes in your school?

​

Yes, luckily, we did have health classes in my school. They focused on teaching us about nutrition, exercise, and overall well-being. I thought it was pretty cool, and it triggered my interest. It's great to have a dedicated space to learn about how to take care of ourselves and make informed choices for a healthier lifestyle.

4. What sports help people stay healthy?

Ah, there are so many sports that can help people stay healthy. Some notable ones include running, cycling, swimming, tennis, and football, my personal favourite. These sports get the heart pumping, build strength, improve endurance, and promote overall fitness. It's all about finding a sport that brings joy so you stick at it.

5. Is it easy for people to exercise in your country?

​

Absolutely! In my country, we're fortunate to have a wide range of fitness options and facilities. We have well-equipped gyms, sports clubs, what else, parks, many actually, and even community centers that offer exercise classes. I believe there's something for everyone, no matter their fitness level or preferences. So, yes, it's relatively easy for people to find ways to exercise and stay active.

1. Do you like ice cream?

Ha, who doesn’t? I have a major sweet tooth, and ice cream is like a frozen slice of heaven for me, if you can say that. The creamy texture, the delightful flavors, and the way it melts in your mouth... It's pure bliss!

​

2. Do you eat ice cream a lot?

​

Hmm, guilty as charged! I have to admit, I indulge in ice cream more often than I probably should. Whether it's a sunny day, a celebration, or simply a reward for getting through a tough day, ice cream always finds a way to sneak into my life.

3. Did you eat ice cream as a child?

​

Oh, absolutely! Maybe too much? As a child, ice cream was the ultimate treat. I have fond memories of chasing after the ice cream van, anxiously waiting for that sweet jingle, I still remember it now, and then choosing a 99, it was this ice cream with a chocolate flake in it. Loved it.

4. Are there shops selling ice cream near where you live?

Oh, you bet! I'm lucky to live in an area with plenty of ice cream shops around. From small local parlors to big-name chains, there's always a place nearby where I can satisfy my ice cream cravings. It's like I have many options at my doorstep.

5. Would you like to make your own ice cream?

​

Umm, the idea of making my own ice cream sounds like a dream come true. Because, experimenting with flavors, adding fun toppings, and creating unique combinations... It would be quite something. Plus, being able to enjoy a scoop of homemade ice cream straight from the freezer sounds decent.

1. What languages can you speak?

​

Well, I know a few languages, but I guess I can only speak well in two of them. My native language is Chinese, and I'm pretty fluent in English too, I hope. I can hold a decent conversation in Japanese, but I'm still working on improving my skills there.

​

2. What languages would you like to learn in the future?

​

Oh, there's a whole world of languages I'd love to explore! At the top of my list, I'd love to learn Spanish. It's such a vibrant and widely spoken language. I'm also intrigued by Korean because of its unique script and fascinating culture. And who knows, maybe I'll dive into some more languages along the way!

3. How do you learn a foreign language?

​

Learning a foreign language can be quite a journey! It’s a challenge. I like to mix things up...use various methods. I watch movies and TV shows in it's original language, listen to podcasts or songs, and even try to strike up conversations with native speakers when possible. Language learning apps and online resources are also incredibly helpful. It's all about immersing yourself and being consistent.

4. How are languages taught and learned in your school?

In my school, language learning is quite interactive. We have dedicated language classes where teachers use a combination of textbooks, audiovisual materials, and engaging activities to teach us. We practice speaking, reading, and writing, and there's a strong emphasis on communication skills. We also have language exchange programs and cultural events to further enrich our learning experience.

1. Do you like rainy days? Why?

Honestly, rainy days aren't really my cup of tea. Nothing is worse than your day being ruined by rain. The gloomy weather and constant drizzle tend to dampen my mood. I prefer brighter and sunnier days that bring a sense of energy and positivity.

2. Does it rain much in your city?

​

Unfortunately, yes. In my city, we seem to have our fair share of rainfall. It can be quite frustrating at times, as the rain seems to linger longer than I would like. I often find myself longing for dry and sunny weather. In the UK, we tend to have nicer weather from May to August, but even then, it can rain.

3. Would you like to live in a dry or wet place?

​

Oh, without a doubt, I would prefer to live in a dry place. I find the constant rain can be quite discouraging and hinder outdoor activities – I like to be outside. I would much rather have a climate where I can enjoy the sun's warmth and take part in outdoor adventures without having to worry about getting soaked.

​

4. Would you change your plan if it rained?

Definitely! If it starts raining, I would most likely alter my plans. Rain can put a damper on outdoor activities and make things uncomfortable. So, I would opt for indoor alternatives like visiting museums, catching up on movies, or just simply chillin’ at home. I would gladly embrace the chance to stay dry and enjoy some indoor comfort.

1. Do you want to be a teacher in the future?

Actually, yes. Being a teacher is something that has always appealed to me. Of course, there are positives and negatives to any type of job, but this would be fulfilling. The idea of shaping the future generation and inspiring students to reach their full potential would give me a great purpose in life.

​

2. Do you remember one of your teachers?

​

I remember many! There's this one teacher who left a lasting impression on me. Mr. Laybern, my high school English teacher, had a unique way of making literature come alive. But, I just loved his manner in class, and he would just be so normal and cool, whereas other teachers perhaps try too hard. He was funny, too.

​

3. What were your primary school teachers like?

​

Ah, I was fortunate to go to a reputable primary school, so all the teachers were excellent. They were caring, patient, and had a knack for making learning fun. They knew how to strike a balance between discipline and nurturing, creating a warm and supportive environment. I don’t remember so vividly, but I have a good feeling looking back.

​

4. Do you have a favourite teacher?

I alluded to one earlier, but I can give you another. His name was Mr Kassedy. He was perhaps one of the most knowledgeable people I have met. He taught maths, which isn’t easy to teach, and made it more interesting than it should be. I just liked speaking to him though out of class and I remain friends with him on social media.

1. What city do you live in?

I recently moved to the vibrant city of Manchester. It's an incredible place that's buzzing with life and offers so much to explore and experience. I cannot wait to explore more.

​

2. Do you like this city? Why?

​

Without question! I'm loving Manchester! The city has a unique charm that instantly captivated me. The rich history, diverse culture, and friendly people make it a fantastic place to call home. There's always something exciting happening, from lively music festivals to football matches. I love watching Manchester United.

​

3. How long have you lived in this city?

​

Not long at all! Not even been here for one month yet so I'm still in the early stages of discovering everything it has to offer. But even in this short time, it has already grown on me. I think I will stay here for some time to come.

​

4. Are there big changes in this city?

Definitely! Manchester is constantly evolving and embracing change. It's a city that thrives on progress and innovation. I believe it’s the fastest growing economy in the UK which is good to hear. New buildings are sprouting up, the cultural scene is expanding, and there's a palpable sense of growth and development. It's an exciting time to be a part of this city. I hope!

5. Is this city your permanent residence?

​

Yes, Manchester is my permanent residence. I'm thrilled to have found a place that feels like home and this is the beginning of my next chapter. My apartment overlooks the canals and I like it a lot.

6. Are there people of difference ages living in this city?

​

100%! Manchester is a diverse city with people from all walks of life and age groups. After London and Birmingham, it is the most diverse city in the UK. From young students and professionals to families and retirees, there's a vibrant mix of generations that contribute to the city's rich tapestry.

1. What is your favourite day of the week?

​

Ah, it's gotta be Friday! I think eveyone loves that ‘Friday feeling’. Friday marks the end of the workweek, and there's this contagious feeling of excitement in the air. It's the gateway to the weekend, where endless possibilities await.

​

2. What is your least favourite day?

​

Monday, hands down! I mean, who really likes Mondays? It's like the alarm clock and responsibilities come crashing down on you after the weekend. The struggle to get out of bed and the thought of a long week ahead make it a bit depressing.

​

3. What is the busiest day of the week for you?

​

For me, it's usually Wednesdays. It's right in the middle of the week, and it's when things tend to pile up. Meetings, deadlines, and a seemingly never-ending to-do list make it a whirlwind of activity. Thankfully, when this day finishes, you are closer to the next weekend. People call it ‘hump day’ right?

​

4. Is there anything that you do every day?

Without fail, I start my day with a cup of strong coffee. It's my morning ritual and the fuel that powers me through the day. It's a small but essential part of my daily routine, and I also do some stretching in the mornings too. I feel with those two things, I have fully woken up.

​

5. What do you usually do on weekends?

​

Ah, weekends are my time to unwind and recharge. I enjoy spending time with friends, exploring my city, trying out new restaurants or cafes, and catching up on my favorite TV shows. It's a time to relax, have fun, and nothing more to say really.

6. Are weekdays and weekends the same for you?

​

Oh no, they're like night and day! Weekdays are all about work and responsibilities, while weekends are my much-needed escape. Weekends are my opportunity to break free from the routine try some new activities that bring me joy and rejuvenate my soul.

1. Are there wild animals in your country?

​

Yes, I am not an expert but there are lots. China is home to a wide range of fascinating wild animals. From the majestic giant pandas to the snow leopards, the country boasts rich biodiversity. The vast landscapes, including the lush forests and rugged mountains, provide habitats for numerous species to thrive.

​

2. Have you ever been to a zoo or a safari park?

​

Oh, yes! I've had the chance to visit both zoos and safari parks. It's always an exciting experience to observe animals up close and learn more about their behavior and conservation efforts. I do question though whether zoos are ethical, so I tend not to go anymore though.

​

3. What is the animal you would like to see in the wild?

​

If I had the opportunity, I would love to see the elusive and magnificent Siberian tiger in the wild. They are, hard to explain, but just amazing creatures, known for their strength and beauty. Witnessing them roaming freely in their natural habitat would be an awe-inspiring experience.

​

4. Are there TV programs about wild animals in your country?

Yes, definitely! China has a variety of TV programs dedicated to showcasing the wonders of wild animals. However, I have to confess though that I don’t opt to watch them really, as I am so busy with working and studying. I’d love to watch more though, if I ever have more time.

1. Did you have a bike when you were young?

​

Yes, from very young actually. Having a bike when I was young was like having a set of wings. It gave me the freedom to explore my neighborhood, and go on adventures with friends. We would do that a lot. Sometimes we even did racing with our bikes, ah good times.

​

2. Did you ride a bike when you were little?

​

Sure, as I mentioned previously, riding a bike when I was little was the epitome of fun and excitement. Whether it was racing with friends down the street or practicing cool tricks, it brought many good moments for us. Those carefree days of riding around without a worry in the world were special.

3. Did you ride a bike to school?

​

Yes, in fact I did! Riding a bike to school was a common sight in my childhood. It was a convenient and enjoyable way to commute. I vividly remember the hill next to my school so the final minute me and my friends were just in free-fall, but unfortunately when that hill stopped, it was time for school. Also, we used to just walk with our bikes up that hill on the way home.

4. Do you ride a bike when you go out now?

While I don't ride a bike as frequently as I used to, I still enjoy the occasional bike ride when I go out. It's a great way to stay active, explore scenic routes, and more. Whether it's a leisurely ride through a nearby park or a cycling adventure on a sunny day, it brings back nostalgic feelings and keeps the joy of biking alive. I like to rent bikes when I travel to, as it’s an easy way to see a new place, particularly in nature.

1. What kind of house or flat do you want to live in in the future?

​

In the future, I dream of living in a nice house, I guess. A place surrounded by lush greenery, with a garden bursting with colorful flowers. I envision a home that exudes warmth and tranquility. It doesn’t need to be big, but in a nice location that would be convenient for my lifestyle.

​

2. Are the transport facilities to your home very good?

​

Fortunately, the transport facilities to my home are excellent. There are bus stops and train stations conveniently located nearby, about 2 minutes to my closest stop, and maybe 15 minutes to the train station. This ensures easy access to various parts of the city. It's quite convenient to hop on a bus or catch a train to reach my destination quickly and efficiently.

3. Do you prefer living in a house or a flat?

​

Personally, I prefer living in a house. There's a certain charm and sense of privacy that comes with having a house of your own. I enjoy having a backyard where I can host gatherings or simply relax under the open sky. However, I do appreciate the convenience and compactness of flats, which can be ideal for city living – which is where I live now.

​

4. Please describe the room you live in.

Well, what can I say, it's a spacious bedroom with large windows that allow plenty of natural light to flood in. The walls have some artwork and photographs that reflect my personality and some memories. A comfortable bed, plenty of wardrobe space and a desk where I spend too much of my time.

​

5. What part of your home do you like the most?

​

Without a doubt, the living room. It's the heart of our house, so to speak, where my partner and I relax, watch movies, and engage in our conversations. I guess it represents the comfort of our lives with comfortable sofas, soft cushions, and warm ambiance make it the perfect place to unwind.

​

6. How long have you lived there?

​

I have been living in this place for a couple of months, and I still remember moving all my boxes here! Time flies though. It's amazing how a place can transform into a home filled with memories and emotions in such a short span of time.

​

7. Do you plan to live there for a long time?

​

Hmmm, I doubt it. While I enjoy it, I don't have concrete plans to live here for an extended period. Life is full of surprises, and circumstances may change – that brought us here in the first place! However, for now, I am content with where we live and we’ll see what happens.

​

8. What’s the difference between where you are living now and where you have lived in the past?

The difference between where I am living now and my previous residences is mainly the location, as I am in a new city now that I had never previously lived in. While the overall style and size of the places have remained quite similar, I have transitioned from living in quieter suburbs to now residing in the bustling heart of a major city. I haven’t lived anywhere as busy as this, and I don’t mind it.

9. Can you describe the place where you live? 

​

The apartment my partner and I live in is nestled in Manchester city center. It's a modern and stylish space, and yeah, it’s not bad at all. We are situated in high-rise building, so our apartment provides breathtaking views of the vibrant cityscape below. The open-concept living area blends the living room, dining area, and kitchen, and I like it like this.

​

10. What room does your family spend most of the time in?

​

In my parents home, it is the kitchen. It's where everyone seems to be most of the time in our household, where we gather to prepare meals, share our day, and we even have a tv to watch as we chat. I’m not gonna lie, but my mother’s cooking is probably why we are always there!

​

11. What’s your favourite room in your apartment/house?

​

Referring to my parents home, my favorite room is the personal study. When I travel back to my parents, I can always go there and work, study, and read. It’s a quiet space that reminds me of simpler times. I am never disturbed. The shelves are full with books and mementos that reflect my interests and achievements.

​

12. What makes you feel pleasant in your home?

Well, I guess there are several things make me feel pleasant in my home. It’s warm, it’s inviting, the familiarity of my surroundings, and the presence of my loved ones that is undeniable. Home is where the heart is. And I feel at home at my parents, despite moving out many moons ago.

​

13. Do you think it is important to live in a comfortable environment?

​

Absolutely! Living in a comfortable environment is crucial for our well-being and overall happiness. A comfortable home serves as a refuge, allowing us to recharge, relax, and find solace after a long day. We’ve all been there, tough day at work, or at university and you just want to forget the world and go home. Of course, on days like that, you won’t to go somewhere comfortable and homely.

14. Do you live in a house or a flat?

​

As I mentioned earlier, I live in a flat, and I am happy to be here. Perhaps, when I am older, I may switch to a house, but I am content with where I am now. Flats are more affordable, and with house prices at the moment, perhaps the best option for myself at this moment in time.

​

15. Who do you live with?

​

I live with my partner. And it doesn’t matter where I live, as long as I live with her. I am not saying this just because she is my girlfriend, but she is great to live with. We work well as a team, as we share duties such as cooking and cleaning. Long may that continue.

​

16. What do you usually do in your flat?

I spend most of my life here, so I guess I do everything. Work, study, relax, sleep, watch tv, do my hobbies, entertain friends, and so many more. I love going out too, and I don’t like staying in too much, but I guess I have to accept the fact that most of the time I am in my home.

​

17. What kinds of accommodation do you live in?

Actually, I no longer live in my hometown, but I do go back and visit my friends and family a lot. It takes a couple of hours to reach there by car or train, so it’s not too inconvenient. I haven’t lived there for over 7 years now.

Banbury, not many people will have heard of it, but is a charming little town located in the heart of the United Kingdom. It's nestled in Oxfordshire and for me, it’s not so special. The town itself has a mix of old and new buildings, with its historic architecture with modern amenities. Perhaps the best thing about it is that it's surrounded by beautiful countryside.

I was born and bred there, and moved out when I went to University, but then I went back for a couple of years after. So, I’d say about 21 years of my life I have lived there.

4. Do you like your hometown?

There's a sense of community there that makes it feel like a close-knit family. It's the kind of town where people greet each other on the street and stop for a chat. However, for me, I personally didn’t feel there was enough going on. For raising a family, it is more ideal.

Of course! I never had any issues, and most of the memories I have created, were in this town. All my family live there, and most of my friends too. I thoroughly enjoyed it, so I liked it, but I like to seek out new things too, and step outside of my comfort zone.

There are many things I like about Banbury, but if I had to pick one, I would say it's the sense of community. People here are friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand. Now and then, there are some local events and festivals that brings everyone together. Other than that, my family and friends.

While I love my hometown, there are a few things that I'm not particularly fond of. One aspect is the limited nightlife options. Banbury is more of a quiet town, so if you're looking for a vibrant nightlife scene, you might be a bit disappointed. Additionally, the traffic during rush hour can get a bit congested.

Banbury is located in Oxfordshire, which is in the central part of England. In fact, if you could drop a pin in the UK right in the middle, that’s where it is. It's situated in a beautiful region known for its rolling hills and picturesque landscapes.

Banbury is more of a small town than a big city. It has a cozy and intimate feel, where everyone seems to know each other. Sometimes that is good, but that can be a negative too! It's not as crowded as larger cities, which many would see as a plus.

Banbury is famous for a few things, surprisingly. One of the notable attractions is the Banbury Cross, which is referenced in a popular nursery rhyme here in the UK. What else, ah, yeah Banbury is famous for its delicious Banbury cakes, a type of pastry that is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.

11. Did you learn about the history of your hometown at school?

​

Oh wow, at first, I’d say no, but we definitely did. We learned about the significant events that shaped Banbury and I remember a school trip where we went to the town centre to learn more about it. Can I remember anything though? Very vaguely!

Absolutely! I love living in Manchester, and I cannot complain with our location. The area I live in is a bit manic, but it's cool. There's always something interesting happening, and it is close to some parks so I can go for a run anytime I want in the quiet, which is important to me.

​

Ooo, that’s a good question. One of my favorite spots is the Northern Quarter. It's a hip and trendy neighborhood with an artsy vibe, filled with quirky independent shops, and lively bars. It's the perfect place to meet up with friends, discover hidden gems, and soak in the atmosphere.

3. Do you know any famous people in your area?

​

While I don't personally know any famous individuals in Manchester, the city has a rich cultural heritage and has been home to many renowned figures. From legendary musicians like Oasis and The Smiths to famous footballers, actors and also historical people too such as Emmeline Pankhurst.

4. What are some changes in the area recently?

I am probably not the best person to answer this, as I have recently moved. I believe the city has undergone extensive regeneration. I think that they have expanded public transportation and renovated public spaces. Also, the city has experienced a boom in cultural events, festivals, and a thriving food scene, but this is what I hear.

5. Do you know any of your neighbors?

​

Some, but not all. It's a friendly and welcoming community, and I've made connections through neighborhood events and social gatherings. We often have friendly chats while walking our dogs or bumping into each other at the local shops.

​

Certainly! The people in my Manchester neighborhood are incredibly friendly and approachable. Whether it's a warm smile, a helpful gesture, I think it’s a bit different to other parts of England. It's reassuring to know that there are kind-hearted neighbors who are always ready to lend a hand or have a friendly chat. The welcoming nature of the community adds to the overall sense of happiness in the neighborhood.

1. What subjects are you studying?

I am currently studying Marketing. It's something that always intrigued me and allows me to explore the world of advertising, consumer behavior, and market trends. I find it relevant in today's business landscape so I decided to go for it!

2. Do you like your subject?

​

Of course. I'm passionate about Marketing. I’ve enjoyed learning about various marketing strategies, analyzing consumer preferences, and understanding how brands position themselves in the market. There is so much to learn, and it’s a lot more than just advertising which what many people think.

3. Why did you choose to study that subject?

​

It took me a while to think about a subject, because who knows what they want to do when they are like 18 or 19? Am I right? I chose to study Marketing though because I have always been compelled by the power of advertising and the influence it has on customers. I guess, I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of how companies work behind the scenes to get people to rely on their product.

4. Do you want to change your major?

No way. Well, at this point, I have no plans to change my major. I am fully committed to pursuing a career in Marketing and believe it is the right path for me. However, I am open to exploring different specializations within the field as I continue my studies and gain more experience.

5. Do you prefer to study in the mornings or in the afternoons?

​

I personally find that I am more productive and focused in the mornings. I am an early bird, as they say. I like to start my day early and take advantage of the fresh mind to absorb new information and work on my to-do list. I think that, mornings provide a quiet and calm environment, allowing me to concentrate without distractions. That’s me in my element.

6. How much time do you spend on your studies each week?

​

Maybe not enough! I dedicate around 20 to 25 hours per week to my studies. This includes attending lectures, participating in group discussions, conducting research, and preparing for exams and assignments. I believe in maintaining a healthy balance between studying and your normal life though, so I need time to relax.

7. Are you looking forward to working?

​

Maybe I’ll regret this in the future but I have to say that I am eagerly looking forward to the world of work and getting good pay. I am excited about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead and am confident that my passion for Marketing will drive me to excel in my career, so bring it on!

8. What technology do you use when you study?

So many types. Technology plays a crucial role in my studying process. I rely on my laptop for research, accessing online learning platforms, and creating presentations. Not only that, but I also use productivity tools like project management software and note-taking apps to stay organized and streamline my study routine. I also use my phone to check things a lot as well, but laptop is my go-to.

9. What changes would you like to see in your school?

Hmmm, let me think. Firstly, I believe incorporating more practical and hands-on projects would enhance the learning experience, so maybe my school lacks that, a bit perhaps. What else, ah, creating stronger connections with industry professionals and providing more internship opportunities would bridge the gap between academia and the professional world. This is what I am looking into now.

10. What work do you do?

​

Right now I work as an Email Marketing Specialist. My role involves creating and implementing email marketing campaigns to engage with customers and drive conversions. It’s pretty cool, and I like it, despite some time pressure. I’d say that I am responsible for designing email campaigns to ensure they are targeted, personalized, and effective in achieving the marketing goals.

11. Why did you choose to do that type of work (or that job)?

​

I chose to pursue a career in email marketing because I believed it will continuously grow and it’s an important part of the industry. At the moment, I don’t regret it. It's an ever-evolving field that combines creativity, data analysis, and marketing strategy, so, I think it is suited for me, and it’s a perfect match.

12. Do you like your job?

I don’t love it, but I certainly like it. I enjoy the challenges and rewards that come with it. I find it fulfilling to create engaging email campaigns that capture the attention of customers. It's a dynamic role that allows me to continuously learn and refine my skills while contributing to the success of marketing initiatives.

13. Do you want to change to another job?

​

As of now, I am content and fulfilled in my role. However, I am always open to new opportunities and challenges that can further enhance my career growth. ​

I must say that I don't miss being a student. It’s too much pressure, and you feel like you can never fully relax, you know what I mean? Transitioning into a professional career has allowed me to apply the knowledge and skills I acquired during my studies in a practical setting, and I like that, a lot.

15. What technology do you use at work?

​

I utilize various technologies to streamline my work processes and enhance campaign performance. I rely on email service providers, or known as ESP’s, to manage email campaigns, segment audiences, and track engagement metrics. And what's more, I use marketing automation platforms to create customer journeys and automate personalized email sequences.

16. Who helps you the most? And how?

My teams, without a doubt. The marketing team plays a significant role in providing insights, feedback, and creative input to ensure the success of email marketing campaigns. I shouldn’t forget the data analytics team too, who I also work closely with. I gain valuable insights from them into audience behavior and preferences. They are always there to help me by providing me information and are always so responsive. I can’t thank them enough.

1. Do you like art?

Well, to be honest, art isn't really my cup of tea. I appreciate that it holds a significant place in our culture and history, but it doesn't particularly resonate with me on a personal level. I can understand why others find it intriguing, though.

2. Do you like visiting art galleries?

​

Previously I would have said not really. I did find visiting art galleries a bit overwhelming and sometimes even boring. I struggle to connect with the artworks and interpret their meaning. However, in recent years, I have grown to enjoy them more than before. Some art galleries are great, in fact.

3. Do you want to be an artist?

​

No, being an artist isn't something I aspire to. I’m just not artistic at all, with my hands. I couldn’t draw or paint when I was younger and I still can’t do it now. I don't possess the natural talent or passion for creating art. I can be creative, but that’s with my mind, not my hands.

4. Do you like modern art or traditional art?

I don't have a strong preference when it comes to modern or traditional art. Both styles have their merits, but neither captivates me enough to develop a liking for it. Sorry I could not give a better answer, but this is a topic I don’t know too much about!

1. Do you like eating chocolate? Why or why not?

I'm a big fan of chocolate. The rich, creamy taste and smooth texture make it an irresistible treat for me. It satisfies my sweet tooth like nothing else. The way it melts in my mouth and releases its heavenly flavors is simply divine. Here in England, we like chocolate a lot. Maybe too much!

2. How often do you eat chocolate?

​

I eat chocolate quite frequently, I must admit. It's hard to resist. Whether it's a small piece after dinner or a chocolate bar as a midday pick-me-up, I find myself reaching for chocolate several times a week. I tried to cut down though, and now I eat it at the weekends, or special occasions like Christmas, Easter or birthdays.

3. Did you often eat chocolate when you were a kid?

​

Oh yes, chocolate was a staple in my childhood. It was like a magical reward that I, or my parents, rewarded myself with. As I said earlier, birthdays, holidays, or simply as a special treat, chocolate always found its way into my life. Not just typical chocolate bars, but also things like chocolate chip cookies - my younger self couldn't say no.

4. Why do you think chocolate is popular around the world?

First of all, let’s face it, it is delicious. Chocolate is great, whether it is in Belgium, the UK or a country South America. Another important factor, is that it’s so involved in holidays. And it’s seen as something to eat to treat ourselves. It’s affordable, and there are many variations of chocolate. So, I think there are a few reasons why the whole globe can’t get enough of it.

5. What’s your favourite flavour of chocolate?

Growing up, I think I had a preference for white chocolate or milk chocolate. But now, if I had to pick one, I would say dark chocolate is my ultimate favorite. Its intense, slightly bitter taste and its smoothness is great for my taste buds.

6. Do you think it is good to use chocolate as gifts to others?

Yes, quite often actually. Chocolate makes for a wonderful gift for various occasions. It's a universally beloved treat so it will be accepted by pretty much anyone. But, I think initially of my girlfriend, and she’ll never be disappointed if I get her some chocolates. Same goes for my mum actually, and my brothers, and well the list goes on.

1. What sports do you like?

I absolutely love football! It's not just a sport for me, but a passion that runs deep. It’s in my veins, and it has stuck with me since I first knew how to kick a ball. If I am not playing it, I am watching it, or reading about it. I also love the Olympics too, and tennis, Formula 1, and a bit of basketball too.

2. Where did you learn how to do it?

​

I learned how to play football in my neighborhood. We used to gather at the local park and kick the ball around for hours. Basically, until the sun went down, or when our mothers would call us in for dinner. It was a great way to bond with friends and improve our skills, too. I look back fondly on those times.

3. Did you do some sports when you were young?

​

Yes, definitely! When I was young, I was actively involved in various sports, including football. I played football every weekend for a local team, and actually we were quite good and we were triumphant by winning the league on two occasions. I also played tennis in summer camps too.

For sure, I think it is essential. In today's sedentary lifestyle, it's crucial for students to engage in regular physical activity. Exercise not only promotes physical well-being but also enhances mental focus and overall academic performance. It is more important than a maths lesson in my opinion!

5. Do you know any people who are good at sports?

Yes, I know a few people who are incredibly talented in sports, including my friend who is unreal at golf. From a young age, he was making strides in golf, and was probably one of the best players in my county. He didn’t become a professional, but maybe sometimes you need to catch a break to become a professional.

6. Do you think it is important for people to exercise?

Definitely! Regular exercise is vital for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Its good for the heart, to build strength and endurance, and reduce the risk of various health conditions. Moreover, exercise has a positive impact on mental well-being, boosting mood and reducing stress. So, we need to exercise consistently in our lives.

7. Should schools encourage young students to take more physical exercise?

Absolutely! Schools play a pivotal role in promoting physical exercise among young students. By offering a range of sports activities, and more importantly, emphasizing the importance of exercise, schools can instill a lifelong habit of physical fitness in students. Let's not forget, it also enhances their social skills, teamwork abilities, and overall personality development.

1. Is there anything that has made you feel happy lately?

​

Yes, lemme’ think. Ah yeah, going on a hiking trip with my friends last weekend made me feel over the moon. The views were great, but the conversations we had were always so funny. Not only that, but the sense of adventure brought a genuine feeling of joy to my heart.

2. What made you happy when you were little?

​

As a child, the simplest things brought me immense happiness. Playing with my favorite toys, exploring nature, and spending quality time with my family. For example, just playing board games was great fun, and when I was young, I used to play with toy figures like action man and wrestlers.

3. What do you think will make you feel happy in the future?

​

Looking ahead, achieving personal goals and pursuing my passions will be the key to my happiness. There’s no denying that purpose in life is what makes us happy. If I start my own business, and one day, reach financial freedom, then I think I will be happy. Or maybe I am wrong, who knows.

4. When do you feel happy at work? Why?

I feel the happiest at work when I'm able to make a positive impact on others. When I feel, like, I have made a difference, you know? Seeing my colleagues succeed, collaborating on meaningful projects, and receiving recognition for my contributions are other things, too.

Buying new things can sometimes bring a temporary sense of excitement and happiness. Chucking money at a new gadget, a stylish outfit, or a book I've been eagerly waiting to read, there's a certain thrill in acquiring something new. I feel this sensation eases as we grow older, but we do get a lot of joy from it, no doubt.

I believe so. I have to say though, that long-lasting happiness is not solely dependent on material possessions. True happiness often stems from experiences, personal growth, and meaningful relationships. That’s the view I take. Material things can provide temporary satisfaction, but it's the intangible aspects of life that truly bring lasting joy and fulfillment.

1. Do you often wear jewellery?

To be honest, I don't wear jewellery very often. I'm more of a minimalist when it comes to accessories. I used to wear the occasional necklace, bracelet, and I frequently wore a watch, but not sure what’s happened to me, but I don’t choose to anymore.

2. What type of jewellery do you like?

​

Oh, that’s tough, because I’m certainly not an expert when it comes to jewellery. So, I’d say I prefer simple and understated pieces. I appreciate the elegance and subtlety they bring to my overall look. I don’t like it when it’s too flashy.

3. Do you usually buy jewellery?

​

I don't buy jewellery frequently, but when I do, it would be more likely for my girlfriend or my mother, and not myself. As I alluded to earlier, I used to buy some for myself, but now it’s just not my priority. Going back to what I said about buying it as a gift, well, I also refrain from doing that because my partner is picky with things like this.

For many people, wearing a particular piece of jewellery for a long time holds sentimental value. It could be a gift from a loved one, a family heirloom, or a memento of a significant event. These pieces carry emotional attachments, for example, my necklace was from my grandparents, and they passed away not so long after, so I continued to wear it to remember them.

1. Do you always bring a lot of keys with you?

Yes, I always take my keys with me everywhere, but I have a key ring, so it doesn’t seem like an inconvenience in any way. I don’t currently drive, so I just have two keys for my home, and my postbox key and that is literally it. So, it’s not an issue to take keys with me at all times. They don’t take up too much space in my pocket.

Haha. Oh yes, I've had my fair share of lost key incidents. It's such a frustrating experience! I remember searching frantically, turning my place upside down, only to find the keys in the most unexpected places. But hey, it happens to the best of us, right? Thankfully, I have never completely lost a key, only temporarily.

3. Do you often forget the keys and lock yourself out?

​

Thankfully, it doesn't happen too often, but there have been a few occasions where I've absentmindedly left my keys inside and locked myself out. It's such a helpless feeling, standing there, realizing you can't get back in. But I've learned to be more mindful and have spare keys as a backup plan. Luckily for me, I’ve never been locked outside for too long!

Oh, defo! Leaving spare keys with a trusted neighbour or family member can be a lifesaver. It's like having a safety net in case of emergencies or lockouts. It's always comforting to know that if I ever find myself locked out or in need of immediate access, I can count on my neighbor for assistance. Of course, it goes without saying, you need to trust them!

To be honest, I don't go to the library as often as I would like to. Life can get pretty busy, and sometimes it's hard to find the time. And that goes for many things in my busy life. However, whenever I do manage to go, I always find it to be peaceful and inspiring, and I can focus well on my studies there.

2. What do you usually do in the library?

​

Hmmm, well, when I visit the library, I sometimes scout for books to read, but that’s not my main purpose anymore. Instead, I find the library to be a great place for studying or working on projects. The quiet environment and abundance of resources make it an ideal place for concentration and focus, so yeah, that’s what I usually do.

3. Did you go to the library when you were a kid?

​

Oh yes, going to the library was a regular part of my childhood. I remember spending hours flipping through picture books, and eagerly borrowing books to read at home. Those library visits played a significant role in my love for English actually, and wanting to learn more about this language. I wish I could go now, as much as I could in the past.

Yes, without doubt, visiting the library is quite a common thing among Chinese kids. The importance of education and knowledge is deeply ingrained in Chinese culture, and parents often encourage their children to explore books and develop a love for reading. Many schools also organize field trips to the library, providing children with opportunities to discover new books and learn in a stimulating environment.

1. What music do you like?

I like everything really, from hip hop to rock, or even dance music. My mood tends to change but I have some favourite artists. For example, I'm a big fan of Ed Sheeran. His music always manages to strike a chord with me. His heartfelt lyrics, soulful melodies, and unique blend of pop and acoustic elements are just amazing in my eyes, or shall I say, to my ears.

2. What music do you dislike?

​

I don’t hate any, but I personally find heavy metal music a bit too intense for my liking. The loud and aggressive nature of the genre just doesn’t do it for me. However, I believe that music is subjective, and what matters most is finding the genres and artists that speak to you, and reach you in some way.

3. Do you often listen to one type of music?

​

I enjoy exploring various genres of music and appreciate the diversity of sounds and styles. While Ed Sheeran's is the top man for me, I also like to venture into different genres too. Switching between different types of music allows me to discover new artists, and my mood can switch too, as it does for everyone.

4. What music do your friends like? Do you enjoy the same type of music? 

My friends have diverse tastes in music, although we have seldom gone to music events together. Some of them lean towards hip-hop and R&B, while others are more into rock or electronic music. Although we don't always share the same preferences, we enjoy sharing and discovering new songs with each other. I’ve heard some great recommendations from my friends, so that’s cool.

5. What’s the most popular type of music where you live? 

In the area where I live, pop music seems to dominate the charts. To be fair, the catchy melodies, relatable lyrics, and energetic beats of pop songs resonate with a wide audience. Having said that, there is still many genres and musical influences present, ensuring that there is something for everyone's taste.

6. Which singer or musician would you like to see in person? 

If given the opportunity, I would love to see Ed Sheeran perform live in person. Maybe one day! His ability to captivate audiences with just his voice and a guitar is truly remarkable. The raw emotion and genuine connection he establishes with the crowd make for an unforgettable concert experience. I really do hope I can witness his talent and passion on stage . A dream come true for sure.
